Your weekly contributions to
Mount
Olivet support the pay of our staff, much of the maintenance of our church building, and many of our outreach missions. Our ministry budget for fiscal-year 2008 is $1,317,909. We project that we will receive additional contributions of $210,000 from special offerings in support of the outreach missions of the church.
The assets of
Mount
Olivet’s Enduring Gifts are invested, and the income is used for strengthening and extending the ministries of
Mount
Olivet
United
Methodist
Church. Income from Enduring Gifts is used primarily for support of
Mount
Olivet’s outreach missions and capital maintenance of our church building and parsonages. During the current fiscal year the Enduring Gifts Fund will provide over $50,000 to the church for these purposes.
The Mount Olivet Foundation is a non-profit corporation, legally separate from
Mount
Olivet
United
Methodist
Church. The members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors are elected by
Mount
Olivet’s Charge Conference. The Foundation’s by-laws prohibit the foundation from funding ongoing activities of
Mount
Olivet
United
Methodist
Church, unless the donor so specifies. A major emphasis of the Foundation is the support of post-secondary students through grants and loans. The Foundation in 2007 provided grants that totaled $25,000 and loans that totaled $46,000. These grants and loans aided 31 students and five non-profit organizations
