Welcome to the Home Page of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church in Arlington, Virginia. I greet you on behalf of the congregation, working volunteers and staff.  We are excited about the life and ministries of this congregation and invite you to become excited about ministry with us.

 

Mount Olivet has served God's people and answered the call to make disciples for Jesus Christ for nearly 150 years on the same corner in Arlington County.

 

The writings of Paul in the New Testament of our Bible describe the church as the body of Christ.  As a congregation, we are both humbled and challenged by that possibility of being the body of Christ right here in Arlington, Virginia. 

 

We believe that God's mission for this church is for us to make disciples for Christ by inviting persons to discipleship in a welcoming community of faith and assurance, by nurturing our growth as Christians in worship, fellowship, and service, and by sending Christian disciples to serve the needs of our community, our nation, and our world.
